Quick answer: Choose 1:1 if you're rehabbing an injury, postnatal, or want the fastest technique progress (trial HK$900). Choose 1:2 (HK$600/person) if you and a partner want near-private attention at a lower cost. Choose 1:4 (HK$450/person) if you have a small group of friends or colleagues and want personalised cueing at close to group-class pricing.
The three private formats compared

| Pace | Fully adaptive | Adaptive to two people | Programme set for the group |
When 1:1 is worth it
A one-on-one session is the safest, fastest way into reformer Pilates. Your instructor assesses posture and movement first, then builds each session around what your body needs — essential if you're working around back pain, hypermobility, or rebuilding your core postnatally (the reformer springs assist in reactivating the transverse abdominis and pelvic floor). Most private students at Senses Studio train twice a week for steady progress.
When 1:2 makes more sense
If you'd like a training partner — a spouse, friend, or gym buddy at a similar level — 1:2 keeps almost all the benefits of a private while cutting the per-person price to HK$600. It's also the format we recommend for pairs who want an advanced reformer challenge with real-time correction on strength, control and flow.
When 1:4 is the smart pick
1:4 private reformer (HK$450/person) is your own class: you pick the people, the instructor still knows everyone's body and history, and the session doesn't have the anonymity of a drop-in group class. Popular with colleagues booking a recurring weekly slot and small groups training toward the same goal. Variants include 1:4 Reformer × Chair and Equipment 101 (both HK$450/person) and Cadillac Hour (HK$600/person) for advanced equipment work.
How to start
Every private journey starts with a trial and a short assessment so we can match you with the right instructor (you can also request a specific team member). Private sessions run at all five Senses Studio locations — Central (H Queen's), Causeway Bay (The Hedon), Quarry Bay, Kwun Tong and Lai Chi Kok — with Polestar, STOTT and BASI certified instructors on Balanced Body® equipment.
